It's been a while.

You bet it has. It's not that I haven't made any cards, I have, it's just that I haven't felt that inclined to blog about it. But I really should start again because I'm thinking of joining in a few card sketch challenges at some point in the not to distant future and they usually want you to link the card to your blog. So I really need to get my blog mojo up and running again.

So here's a card...

The teddy bear and the sentiment are MFT stamps, I think the bell is an Inkadinkado stamp (or not as the case may be). The card is Kraft card stock 6x6. I don't know what the DP is because I haven't got all the front covers to my 6x6 DP pads anymore. I lost a lot in the move onto the boat.  I used my usual spellbinders dies. And the inks were momento tuxedo black and broken china distress ink. I used copic pens to color the bear and paper pieced the bear's clothes, ribbon and holly leaves.

I expect that this one will go to my Granddaughter for Christmas because she loves her bear bear.

Keep well until next post

The big 50

Tomorrow I will be 50 and to celebrate this momentous occasion I have decided that I will try to make the next year a year of 50 firsts. So 50 things I have never experienced before, it's like a bucket list but it won't be 50 things on a list, it will be 50 things that are new to me. So if I come across the opportunity to try something new I will grab it with both hands.

I have already experienced a lot of new things over the last 2 years and I've realized that I haven't really bothered to mark it down as an event. Such as, living in LA and Houston, visiting Dubai and staying on a game reserve in Kenya for 5 weeks. Joining running and cycling clubs, doing volunteer work, running mountain trails, crafting, attending special functions, trying new foods and meeting new people. I mean, I have blogged about them and posted photos of them but not really recognized that it was anything different from the run of the mill things we do in life.

Today for example, I am sat on a yacht in Dockyards Bermuda while a storm is blowing around me and I'm writing my blog about doing or recognizing new things. I am about to go and grab a coffee at the pharmacy before going to the museum where I am doing some research work as a volunteer, I am handling some old documents and pouring over the script whilst digging out the details. I have to handle them with gloves and not force anything straight whilst propping up the delicate bits and then try and read and make sense of what is written before making notes about it. It's slow going but I'm really enjoying it.

Enough for now, I need that coffee.....

Take Care

What to do?

It's been over a month since I last blogged about anything. Since my last post I have been to New Zealand to visit family and take part in an off road marathon called the Motatapu, I will post the obligatory race photo on my next post (once I have purchased one, lols) and I have moved from Texas. So where do you live now I can hear you ask, well, I (we) will soon be living on our yacht once all the painting has been finished that is. The yacht is at the moment on a hard standing in the British Virgin Islands. I haven't as yet been able to do any crafting or much of anything as I'm unable to get at my supplies that are tucked away on the yacht. Hopefully by the middle of next month we'll be more settled and able to get on with life. As it stands right at the moment we are in a bit of a holding pattern, we are waiting for work to be finished on the yacht, then we're waiting for a time slot to launch the yacht and then we're waiting to get our cat out of the cattery back in Texas and over to the BVIs. Then we can sling our hook as the saying goes and get on with our plans.

We have two great family sayings and they are, "hurry up and wait" and "the only thing constant is change", these two sayings pretty much sum up the whole of my married life and my Scrubby will totally understand what I'm saying even if no-one else does. Oh my, I have an insider joke, I never thought I would get to the point in my life where me and Scrubby would have an insider joke, lols. It'll be 27 years married this April I can't believe that either, where did the years go?  And talking of going, I have to go now because I am running out of battery power and I'm not on shore power here so I'm charging my computer battery from boat batteries, that's just one of the joys of living  on board a yacht.

Keep well

Another valentine card

It's a bit difficult to make any cards at the moment because a) we've sold most of our chattels including all the tables and chairs (I still have a bed and a sofa) and b) all my crafting equipment is packed away ready to move at the end of this month. So I was checking out the latest Splitcoaststampers tutorial, yes I am a member, and I thought well I could give that a go with out having to unpack all my kit and equipment so I did. This is the word card tutorial and this is my card;

Simply made and embellished with the first thing I grabbed out of my packed box.

Keep Well

Blog Candy Giveaway

Wow it's February 2012 already, time goes by really fast, one minute I was 19 I blinked and "nek minit" I was 49 staring down the barrel of the big 50. Anyway I'm not talking about that today, instead I'm posting a quick link to a blog I follow, I love Amy's work  and when I grow up I want to be able to make cards as stunning as hers, I also follow her on you tube and I have learnt a lot about copics from her plus I have got to see a whole shed load more of cute stamps that I would like to own and color (thanks for enabling me Amy).

Anyway she is hosting a give away on her blog and I'd really like to win it and to be in with a chance I have to post a comment on her blog a thousand sheets of paper and then post a link back to my blog, or something like that. So anyhoo, off I go to give it a try lols.

Keep well
